The Directors at Aurora Mar Ltd have vast experience in fish farming and net making, giving them a clear insight and first-hand experience of identifying problems associated with existing fish grading devices.
With this in mind, a design for a passive fish grader was submitted to the Patent Office and Aurora Mar Ltd was granted its patent in April 2008. Patent number GB2421413.
During this time, extensive research was conducted to perfect the production process and assembly techniques for the product which would become the EzeeGrader. This was time well spent, as the product is now made to a very high standard and quality, reflected in the improved and easier size grading process for users.
In addition to the attention to detail spent on perfecting the manufacturing process, we have also undertaken two years of intensive sea trials to test the strength, durability and handling of the EzeeGrader. The harsh North Sea and Atlantic waters around Shetland made an ideal environment for rigorous testing. We have received positive feedback from these trials, resulting in testers purchasing an EzeeGrader after observing its effective and hassle free use in the water.
The extensive testing of the EzeeGrader has been carried out using cages in the salmon farming sector. However, the versatility of the product means that it can easily be applied to any type of fish or environment.
